New Academic Year

4th September 2017

Welcome back….

I hope you all had a fantastic summer and are ready for the new term.

I would like to start by congratulating Year 11 on what was a fantastic set of GCSE exam results. They were richly deserved and I wish them all the best as they take their next steps into the world of education and employment. In just one year the educational outcomes of our students have been transformed.

84% of students left with a grade 4+ in English

70% of students left with a grade 4+ in Maths

English and maths basics at 4+/C+ have improved from 40% to 68% in one year. This is likely to be one of the biggest improvements in the country.

We are excited to get going with the new Year 11 and look forward to celebrating even better results next year.

I would also like to welcome our new Year 7 students and congratulate you on your choice of school. It is a very exciting time and there are lots of new and exciting innovations that will make your time at Manor Croft not only exciting but also provide you with fantastic outcomes.

As we prepare for the next step in our journey I would like to share with you a few innovations. We have a revised assessment and feedback policy that is based around the ‘demonstrate’ tasks that have been used so successfully in maths. We also have a revised homework policy that will provide students with the knowledge to excel in their examinations moving forward.

To keep students fit and healthy we will towards the end of the month be installing a new state of the art fitness gym.

It is a very exciting time and we are glad that you are joining us on our journey.
