Sporting Success at Manor Croft Academy

14th May 2015

Manor Croft Academy has a number of sports stars who may well be making it to the big time. Our Year 7 Rugby team managed to secure the ‘Dennis Trotter Memorial Trophy’ as they recorded five out of five wins in the recent Kirklees competition.

Continuing with the rugby theme we have two students Year 10 students; Josh Pinder and Joe Summers who have both secured two year scholarships with Wakefield Wildcats. They have both been playing up an age group for the past season and have so far been undefeated.

Representing the girls is Lauren Hayes. She has performed recently for the Yorkshire gymnastics team at a regional competition.

Finally one of our Year 11 Leavers may well be on your TV screens very soon. Brad Duxbury has signed a two year contract with Hull FC. As soon as the exams are finished, Brad will be relocating to Hull to make a start on an exciting football career.

Well done to all our students for their sporting endeavours over the past few months.
