The Primary School 'Egg Drop' Roadshow

24th September 2013

This week has seen the third primary school to be given the 'Egg Drop Challenge' by Manor Croft Academy's brand new Transition Team.

The Transition Team has been created to link up with our primary feeder schools in order to offer pupils the opportunity to familiarise themselves with Manor Croft Academy and the key staff that they will meet in the first few months of attending the Academy.

The 'Egg Drop' roadshow has been designed to allow pupils the opportunity to problem solve in teams. The activity has identified leadership skills in many our feeder primary pupils and certainly highlighted the engineering potential of the next generation.

Eastborough, Hanging Heaton and Chickenley have so far completed the challenge. All three schools have set the bar very high for the final school Bywell.

Next week over 180 Year 5 & 6 pupils from Bywell will take on the challenge to see which pupils can beat the 'Egg Drop'.

Well done to al those pupils that have taken part so far.
