Manor Croft Academy invests heavily in the future careers of our students. The Academy pays for the services of an independent & impartial careers provision called CareersInc. The expertise the Careers Adviser offers our students is outstanding. The service is available one day per week and all students have the option to drop in at any time.

At Manor Croft Academy we believe that exposing our students to a range of career opportunities  will not only help them to make informed decisions about their next steps but will also provide further motivation to strive for the best possible examination results. We are therefore focused on providing them with the chance to work with a range of businesses in order for them to get a feel for what it would be like to work in such an environment.

In July current year 11 students were put through their paces as they took part in a mock assessment day run by a range of national and international businesses including KPMG, Yorkshire Building Society, ITV and Yorkshire Water. Academics, college professionals and local business leaders were also on hand to carry out interviews and provide feedback.

Further opportunities will be made available this academic year for students to take part in recruitment activities in school as well as getting the chance to visit businesses to really sample working life in a modern day organisation.

The Careers Adviser concentrates on supporting Year 11 students with their next steps.  Offering information, advice and guidance on:

  • Choosing the right career
  • Options at 16
  • The latest job vacancies
