We recently took 45 students to the Bushcraft experience for 3 days and 2 nights. The students were living in the forest within the grounds of Cholmondeley Castle and they took part in a variety of Bushcraft activities. The first activity the students took part in was how to start a fire using a variety of tools. Then the students moved onto making shelters (which a few students slept in!) and was followed by activities such as wood collecting, camouflage skills, predator games and much more. In addition, students had the chance to try new foods, which were cooked in a variety of ways, like Salmon being cooked over an open fire. The final day the students had to work within their tribes to complete a series of Bushcraft challenges, such as building a shelter and a fire. It was an interesting and enjoyable experience.
