The first careers day of the year took place at Manor Croft this week. There were over 25 external providers in the academy talking to all our students about the opportunities available in further education, apprenticeships, university and the world of work. Students were involved in a range of exciting and engaging activities designed to highlight the careers available with qualifications in Technology, Physical Education, Humanities and STEM. They then had the chance to spend time with the providers discussing the opportunities they could offer. It was a great day and students came away enthused about what they had learnt and the kinds of job they may do in the future.
Our Year 11 students spent the day completing their UCAS Progress college applications. They worked on their personal statements and following conversations with the college and apprenticeship providers decided on which courses they wanted to apply for. We look forward to the offers starting to arrive!! The proportion of our students going on to study level 3 qualifications reached over 65% last year which is a new high for the Academy. This shows how the outstanding grades they achieve but also the quality CEIAG support is helping with students’ ability to be socially mobile.
