The Restart a Heart campaign is an annual initiative led by the Resuscitation Council in partnership with The British Heart Foundation, British Red Cross, St John Ambulance, and Yorkshire Ambulance Service. It aims to improve the low numbers of people surviving out-of-hospital cardiac arrests. On the 16th October 2019 Yorkshire Ambulance Service and partners spent a day with our Year 8 students to train them in these vital lifesaving skills.
To reduce the risk of a cardiac arrest it’s important to look after your heart. The way we live our lives and the environment around us can make it hard to be healthy. Making small changes now to the way we live and the choices we make, can improve our health, and double our chances of staying healthy as we get older.
Our Year 8 students thoroughly enjoyed the experience and no doubt learned incredibly valuable lessons in life saving.
