We would like to update you on our plans and preparations for any potential disruption to schools arising from Coronavirus (COVID-19).
As you will be aware, the advice about coronavirus is changing on a daily basis. We receive daily updates from Public Health England and the Department for Education and we continue to follow their advice in full. You may have seen on the news last night that the government’s current position is that schools will not close and we are again following this advice.
Across our Academy, we are continuing to promote good personal hygiene and regular hand-washing with all pupils, students and staff. We have placed posters in key areas to remind us all to maintain good hygiene.
We have also reviewed our emergency plans and developed plans for any changes to our normal ways of working. In the event of any closure, partial or full, we will send you a message via our established parent text messaging service. We will also put notifications on the Academy website.
We are now preparing to provide work for your children, in the event that we have to close the school for any length of time. This will draw on the excellent resources already used in our academies. If we have to use these arrangements, we will send out more detailed information via the communication methods outlined above.
It would help our preparations if you could check your child is able to log on to www.office.com using their academy email address. This is where resources will be posted. They will also be able to access on-line resources and learning applications including Hegarty Maths, GCSEpod and Language Nut. Please contact us if you have any queries about this process.
We will continue to follow appropriate advice and I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support.
Mr D Hewitt
